Earlier this year, Polish metal superstars Behemoth unleashed their highly anticipated album The Satanist unto the masses, and we're still recovering. Their new music video for "Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer" -- translated from Latin "Pray For Us Lucifer" -- gives us a taste of the band's live show.
Behemoth, like many black metal bands, have a taste for the theatrics. But while most come off as cliché and laughable, Behemoth manage to take their brand of blasphemy and turn it into visually captivating performance art. Band members don tattered black robes and corpse makeup, while the stage is rigged with plenty of pyrotechnics. Keeping with the band's occult themes and the inversion of the Catholic Church, frontman Nergal delivers his sermon from his pulpit adorned with serpents.
When Nergal (given name Adam Darski) isn't busy fronting one of Poland's biggest musical acts and kicking cancer's ass, he is running his own barbershop in Warsaw, appropriately named Barberian Academy & Barber Shop. Nergal's other talents include comedic actor and being a former judge on The Voice Poland.
