P. Diddy's Revolt.TV is launching tonight at 8pm EST. To help promote the launch, the boss went on Power 105.1 FM's Breakfast Club program to let everyone know about it.
Lots of interesting stuff. It sounds like he stole Zumic's strategy and tagline of "The ESPN of Music," but there's definitely a need for an authority in the music industry and MTV is definitely not about music anymore so there's an opportunity for someone to step up.
We'll be keeping our eyes on Revolt.TV, for sure. The question is whether we can trust the man who ran the MTV show Making The Band which had absolutely nothing to do with good music. Is there any conflict of interest, being so closely tied to the record industry for so many years as a producer / executive? Is this just a marketing / branding scheme for Diddy to make more money, or is he really going to feature the best artists? Time will tell.
