On Saturday night, Phish concluded their exciting four-night run at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In keeping with tradition, the band had a surprise up their sleeve to ring in the new year. If you didn't attend the festivities or purchase the live webcast, you can watch what you missed out on above, courtesy of the band's YouTube.

Joining Phish onstage to help usher in 2017 were special guests James Casey on saxophone, Natalie Cressman on trombone, Jennifer Hartswick on trumpet, Jeff Tanski on keys, and Andres Forero on percussion. Beginning with the Big Boat track "Petrichor," the group get a nice groove flowing before dancers take to the front of the stage and begin a series of choreographed moves with umbrellas while pellets fell from the sky, simulating a rainstorm.

Trey leads the countdown, and at the stroke of midnight streamers and balloons shaped like cats and dogs fell from the venue's rafters while the band segued into a celebratory "Auld Lang Syne." Keeping everyone's spirits "high," Phish then broke into an upbeat "Suzy Greenberg" as mountains of balloons piled around them. Having been at the first night's show, I can attest to the fun and excitement Phish brings to their annual NYE's run, and hope they'll be back again for 2017.

The full concert audio for every show of the 2016-2017 NYE run is available for purchase and download through the band at
