The venerable Preservation Hall Jazz Band has released the song "That's It," which will be featured on their upcoming album, That's It!, due out on July 9th. Although the group has been around since 1963, the album will be "the first-ever" comprised of completely new and original material.
The group enlisted Jim James of My Morning Jacket as a co-producer, and the band will record at the historical Preservation Hall in New Orleans, from which they take their name. If the single is any indication, the full album should be top notch. "That's It" showcases a Latin-tinged horn section and a steady, rumbling beat, making for lively and innovative jazz.
