"PrimeTime" - Janelle Monáe ft Miguel [YouTube Official Audio]

Janelle Monáe has been collaborating up a storm recently, from her single with Erykah Badu, "Q.U.E.E.N." to her guest spot on The Goodie Mob's single, "Special Education."

Last week we saw the tracklist with information about collaborations for Janelle Monáe's upcoming album, "The Electric Lady," and today we are getting the official audio for the song "PrimeTime" featuring Miguel as a free stream on YouTube. It's a slow jam with touches of electronic processing that accentuate the deep groove. The vocals sound great. As with much of the music that's come out in 2013, it's a throwback to the '80s production style. The guitar lead transitioning into the fadeout at the end of the song is a nod to the transistor distortion shred of Eddie Van Halen, although it's cut short before it really takes off.

Also, a pretty cool video was posted to Monáe's Instagram and other social media accounts where she hand-writes a note directing people to her website to watch the video:
