Prince Avalanche, an independent film featuring Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch, opened in theatres this past Friday August 9th to the sound of a spectacular score composed by Explosions In The Sky and David Wingo. The full soundtrack is available on iTunes, and you can listen to "Join Me On My Avalanche" as previously posted on Zumic.

In further promotion of the film and score, the company Bluecat Traditional was hired to paint a mural of Esteben Rey's artwork that has become the signature for Prince Avalanche. What's more, the founder of Explosions In The Sky's record label Jeremy DeVine documented the three day painting process at Turkey's Nest Tavern in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The two men painting wore the same overalls as Paul Rudd's and Emile Hirsch's characters in the film and listened to the same vintage boombox they did in touches that show continued brilliance by the artists behind the film and the accompanying score. The song featured in the documentation of the mural-making process is "Send Off," Explosions In The Sky's and David Wingo's final song on the soundtrack.
