In one of the more surprising moves of 2013, Prince will be hosting and performing a concert that's open to the public at his legendary Paisley Park studio complex on Saturday October 5th. Minneapolis City Pages reports:

Prince will be performing with the New Power Generation & 3rdEyeGirl.

There is a $50 donation expected at the door, and limited entry given on a first-come first-serve basis. NO ADVANCE TICKETS.

Doors at 9 p.m., Saturday, October 5.

Paisley Park Studios address is 7801 Audubon Rd. Chanhassen, MN 55317

No alcoholic drinks allowed, no cell phones, no audio recorders, no cameras, no reentry.

Update: Limited parking on-site, and traffic will be directed to overflow lots once it fills.

For those that don't know, the New Power Generation is an 11-piece soul-funk band and 3rdEyeGirl is a 3-piece funky hard rock band.

Drummer Hannah Ford told City Pages, "We really just wanted to open up Paisley to the public and invite Minnesota and anybody else who can make it out... This one is moreso like a spur-of-the-moment event to spend time with our community and throw a big concert for everybody and show off some of the stuff we're working on."
