Katy Perry's album Prism is now available as a free online album stream via her official SoundCloud account:

Prism is a more mature album than what we've come to expect from Katy Perry. Sonically, it's still what you'd expect from a vocal pop album in 2013 - lots of electronic production, danceable beats, and layered vocal parts - but she's made a conscious decision to incorporate modern disco influences like Robyn. The tone of the lyrics is also much more serious than her previous work, which was more carefree and oriented toward partying.

The album was recorded in Katy Perry's hometown of Santa Barbara, California, as well as Stockholm, Sweden. Producers credited on the album include Klas Åhlund, Benny Blanco, Bloodshy Cirkut, Dr. Luke, Greg Kurstin, Max Martin, StarGate, Greg Wells, and Ms. Perry. The deluxe edition of the album includes songs that were co-written with John Mayer and Emeli Sandé. Perhaps the most unusual collaboration is with rapper Juicy J on the song "Dark Horse."

The album is set for official release on October 22nd and it's available for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon. On her website, Perry says that the first 300,000 copies of the physical CD come in special shiny packaging that looks kind of like the Arcade Fire Reflektor packaging.
