Well this is a really fucking cool little nugget: here is a rarely before heard version of The Talking Heads classic "Psycho Killer" featuring noted avante garde cellist and composer Arthur Russell. The song was released as part of Detroit's Movement festival this upcoming weekend will feature an exhibit called Go Bang: A Celebration Of Arthur Russell, that will feature DJs, curated art installations, dancers and more. Russell's deft touch and unnerving fills with the cello fit the paranoia of the song very well, listen to their version below:

Russell was an integral player in the New Wave, Punk and Dance scenes in New York in the 70s and 80s, working with such luminaries as David Byrne, Bob Dylan, Robert Wilson, Allen Ginsberg, and Francois K. Go Bang director John Connell had this to say about the event:

“Go Bang is an opportunity to celebrate our culture and history in the dance music world and showcase the work of a true pioneer. It is a celebration of the genius of Arthur Russell. The photographs and unreleased music of Russell as well as archival footage has been carefully gathered and curated by our team.”
