El Pintor, Interpol's highly-anticipated new record, was released yesterday and the New York band celebrated by playing album track "All The Rage Back Home" on Letterman.
The band stripped the song down somewhat for the television performance, letting Paul Banks' vocals sit above the mix, instead of buried in hazy reverb like the album version. The guitars were relatively clean as well, so you can really hear the intricate solo work from Daniel Kessler. Letterman himself approved, running over after the performance and telling each member that he wants to be part of the band. He also, of course, complimented Sam Fogarino's drums.
