Scottish band CHVRCHES' song "Recover" is a bit of plaintive, soaring pop that we'll probably be seeing in movies aimed at hip youngsters over next few years. This title track of the band's debut 2012 EP has the standout that put CHVRCHES on a lot of people's radars as 2012 came to a close. People have been swooning over Lauren Mayberry's pleading delivery and the danceable pop tinged with sadness that she, Iain Cook and Martin Dohety deliver, and 2013 promises to be a big year for the band.
Fittingly, this performance of the song from SXSW takes place at the Hype Hotel, as did many fine performances over the week.
The band's debut record should be out around some time this fall.
