In 1996, Redman released his third album, Muddy Waters. Many hip-hop fans have considered it to be a classic body of work, and one of Redman's best albums. After 17 years, the New Jersey lyricist has decided to release a video previewing the sequel to the album. Muddy Waters 2, will be released as a mix tape via his website

In the video, Redman previews the mix tape's songs, which sound incredible. From watching, Redman still has the same sharp lyricism he has always used. But, gone are the funky '90s style of beats he once rhymed over. He is now rhyming on updated production, which blends great with the wittiness we have all come to love from him. "Redman wanna eat it up, bitch get low, X niggas out like tic-tac-toe, bricks in the building, Doc gon kill the whole front row, you shouldn't sit that close," he spits on one of the tracks previewed.

The seasoned veteran will announce the mix tape's pre-order on his website. Those who purchase via will receive a hard copy of the tape, along with a t-shirt and other Redman memorabilia. Stay tuned for more details.
