Metal gods Slayer will be releasing their eleventh studio album, Repentless, on September 11 via Nuclear Blast Records. Today, they have shared a "visualizer" music video for the album's title track. Check it out above.
Guitarist Kerry King shared his thoughts about the song on the band's Facebook page:
"Repentless" is my Jeff tribute. I call it the "HannemAnthem." It’s my perspective of Jeff’s perspective, it’s what I think...if Jeff wrote a song for himself, "Repentless" would be it.
The video is a real treat, especially for Slayer's fans. It shows the intensity the band brings to it's live concerts, and shows behind-the-scenes footage of them working in the studio. Words from the song's chorus, "Live fast, on high, Repentless," pop up also.
The song is a brutal assault of Paul Bostaph's rapid-fire drumming, Tom Araya's ferocious vocals, and lightning fast guitar riffs from King and Hanneman's replacement, Gary Holt of Exodus. Just as the song's lyrics suggest, "Repentless" lives fast and rides high on nonstop energy.
Pick up Repentless on Amazon (Vinyl, CD).
Later this month, Slayer will hit the road for the Rockstar Mayhem Festival with other metal acts including King Diamond, HELLYEAH, and The Devil Wears Prada. Then they'll be touring Europe with Anthrax and Kvelertak later in the year.
