Today, hard rock band Metallica have released deluxe versions of two of their earliest albums, Ride The Lightning and Kill 'Em All. In conjunction, the band has shared a live music performance of "Ride The Lightning" from their August 31, 1985 appearance at the Day On The Green music festival in Oakland, California. Watch it above.

The video is a cool piece of Metallica history as we see the band in their younger years play the song in front of fans in their home state of California. James, Kirk, Lars, and the late Cliff Burton on bass headbang their way through the song, which was the title track of their second studio album released one year prior.

In related news, Metallica have been chosen as this year's Record Store Day ambassadors (which is this Saturday, April 16). Get out there and support your local record stores!
