Bob Weir, the Grateful Dead's psychedelic cowboy, has shared the first single from his upcoming album, Blue Mountain. Listen to "Only a River" above, courtesy of NPR.

For "Only a River," Weir collaborated with Josh Ritter and members of The National. The tune also references the early 19th century American folk song "Oh Shenandoah." Weir's storytelling vocals draw you in, as acoustic guitar, keyboards, and lush production create a dynamic experience with moments of serene beauty.

Blue Mountain is scheduled to be released on September 30, 2016. Pick it up on Amazon.

Weir has also announced 2016 North American Campfire Tour dates that will be in support of his upcoming LP.
