Jimmy Kimmel Live wrapped up their coverage of SXSW 2014 with a performance and interview with the legendary Willie Nelson.
"Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die" - Willie Nelson and Family on Kimmel 3/14/2014:
Willie Nelson and Family are Austin locals, so it's no surprise Kimmel decided to end the week with their performance. The band played Nelson's "Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die," a track from 2012's Heroes. Originally recorded featuring Kris Kristofferson, Jamey Johnson, and Snoop Dogg, the live track is somewhat stripped down, but the performance is still full of charming spontaneity. Nelson leads the band through the song's verses, his bright vocals cutting through the mix as the Family jams around him. Watch the video above.
Willie also sat down for an interview with Jimmy, where they chat about old-school Austin, marijuana, and Nelson's 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. "Were it not for the marijuana," Kimmel says, "you might be Chuck Norris right now." Check out the interview in three parts below.
