Jhené Aiko showcases her awesome vocal abilities on her newly released EP, Sail Out. The seven track recording features cameos from Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and Vince Staples. Each track takes you on a mellow journey through Aiko's love life filled with happiness, setbacks, and questioning moments.

The EP is kicked off by the track, "The Vapors." "Can I hit it again, can I hit again?" the songstress repeatedly asks on the chorus, as newcomer Vince Staples delivers a verse on the track. Aiko's voice is perfect as usual, singing to the beat with comfort that makes the listen enjoyable.

The newly released singles "Bed Peace" and "Stay Ready" follow up, and are already tunes that fans have gravitated towards. Gambino lends his rap cameo on "Bed Peace," while Kendrick spits an awesome verse on "Stay Ready." The beat production varying from pop R&B to a more hip-hop style really diversifies the EP, making each song sound different from the others.

A rap verse is even performed by Aiko on "The Worst." Her performance stands up to the ones delivered by the male rappers on the EP. "Thought it was you so I was with it, man to tell you the truth wish we never did it," she rhymes over the beat.

"Comfort Inn Ending (Freestyle)" finishes off the record strongly, but leaves you wanting more. The body of work on Sail Out is awesome, but it feels like there is more to Jhené's story. Hopefully, the singer plans to release a full LP next year on Def Jam Records. Watch videos for "Bed Peace" and "The Worst" here on Zumic.
