Primus' major label debut is one of the more "out there" debuts of all time most likely. The signature weirdness that Primus is known for is in full swing here. Bass-dominated tracks such as "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver" and "Tommy the Cat" will confuse many people, perhaps because neither sounds much like a bass. Driving, forceful songs like "Eleven," "American Life," and "Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers" are there for rocking out hard.
Full of mad-genius instrumentalists, Sailing the Seas of Cheese has something for everyone. Everyone who is into really strange but incredible musicianship, that is.
