Finnish bluegrass band Steve 'N' Seagulls have uploaded a live video performing Metallica's 1983 song "Seek & Destroy." Recorded by Jaakko Manninen Photography and Antti Laitila, the video sees the band lounging around a table inside a cabin. They take a break from sipping their coffee (or tea?) to bust out a highly entertaining version of the thrash metal classic.
Instead of the electrified guitars that are found in the original, banjo and mandolin lead the way while rapid fire bass notes and brush drum fills fuel the fire. Most impressive though is the jazzy breakdown in the middle of the song, where the group shift into a relaxed rhythm before kicking the energy back up.
The band first became a YouTube sensation after their cover version of AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" got millions of views. They're currently working on a covers album called Farm Machine that features AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long," as well as songs by other metal and hard rock bands including Guns N' Roses, Led Zeppelin, and Iron Maiden. The album is set to be released May 12th and you can order it on Amazon (MP3).
