In 2009, former Islands drummer Aaron Harris formed Steel Phantoms with guitarist Jesse Newkirk. This Brooklyn based indie-rock band released their first well received EP, Forer, in 2011. In July the duo released their latest self-titled EP Steel Phantoms.
Newkirk's crisp guitar skills and Harris's vocals align harmoniously on their latest single "Skin Tone." Listeners get a taste of Steel Phantom's influences with a guitar intro similar to Beach House's song "Myth" and Aaron Harris's vocals drawing from singer Morrissey, of The Smiths.
