The Pixies unleashed another wave of music and news today, with the new music video for "Snakes," the release of another new EP, and the announcement of their first full length LP since 1991's Trompe Le Monde.

Like much of what we've seen from the recent Pixies releases, the song is an interesting, multi-layered track, with a forceful, driving drumbeat and Joey Santiago's surf-inspired guitar playing. Black Francis takes over for the chorus, with a decidedly poppy yet still morose melody. The video for "Snakes" sees a group of piñata-headed citizens grab their bug-out bags and go on the run from some dark-suited ne'er-do-wells, but we won't spoil the end for you just yet.

The big news comes in the announcement of Indie Cindy, the band's upcoming album, due out Record Store Day 2014, April 19th. The album will be a compilation of the recently released EP-1, EP-2, and the brand new EP-3. Although both Kim Shattuck and Paz Lenchantin have filled in on bass since the departure of Kim Deal, the bassist on the album is Simon Archer, aka Ding, who has previously collaborated with PJ Harvey and The Fall.

Indie Cindy will be available digitally, in a 12-song double vinyl edition, or in a deluxe double CD book, which will be a "40-page hardback book with CD of album and live 13 track CD recorded on this year's World Tour." Lenchantin will be featured on the live records. Pre-orders are available today at the band's official website. EP-3 is available now.

Drummer David Lovering said in a statement:

"We started seriously talking about recording new music about four years ago. New music seemed like something we just had to do, we just couldn't continue to go out and tour without anything new. So the talk evolved into writing and recording, and we're all very happy with the way everything worked out."
