In Sound Advice, musicians come in for an interview and "constructive criticism" from media coach Janessa Slater (played by Vanessa Bayer). St. Vincent recently made an appearance on the web series and you can watch it on the YouTube video above.

What really drives the skit is the contrast between the St. Vincent and Slater. In a cringeworthy manner, Slater tries to break the ice with the artist by making a joke about her being from Mars. This leaves St. Vincent uncomfortably struggling to maintain politeness. Afterwards, the two go on to talk about stage names, playing Eddie Money at a funeral, and brainstorming a good scandal for the singer-songwriter. Although Janessa is somewhat awkward, the clip is still surprisingly insightful into St. Vincent's style.
