Yesterday, Complex premiered the music video for "So Bad" by Cam'Ron featuring Nicki Minaj & Yummy. The original version of "So Bad" came out in 2012 without Nicki and featuring different Cam'Ron verses. The 2014 revamp keeps Yummy's lovely hook and features a new verse each from Cam'Ron and Minaj.
In the Antwan Smith-directed video, Cam is set to buy a New York City apartment, but must meet with the seller, played by Minaj, first. That meeting includes the two rappers having a quarrel that has absolutely nothing to do with purchasing the real estate. Throw in far too much green screen usage, and you have one comically corny video. But the simplicity of the music video compliments the lighthearted nature of the song well, and the spectacular bird's-eye views of New York City help make for a good watch.
Cam'Ron has a unique ability to rap with genuine vocal inflections, making even simple lyrics sound fun and clever. Nicki's verse helps develops the song's story, talking about a history between the two characters. All in all, the second version definitely trumps the original 2012 track.
"So Bad" will appear on Killa Cam's First Of The Month Vol. 2. You can purchase the on iTunes today.
