The one-and-only Cher has released the 2nd single from her upcoming ABBA covers album, Dancing Queen.  Listen to "SOS" above on YouTube.

"SOS" has more of a rock vibe than much of ABBA's more disco-oriented pop music, with intricate guitars and keyboard melodies.  The original recording of the song was released on the band's 1975 self-titled album, and lead singer Agnetha Fältskog released her own version as a solo artist later that year in Swedish.  The song was a big hit for ABBA, and over the years, it became one of the most covered songs in the band's catalog.

Much like the Dancing Queen album's first single, "GIMME! GIMME! GIMME! (A Man After Midnight)," the song is transformed into a club anthem with Cher's recognizable and talented vocal delivery front and center.  Cher's version of "SOS" may be a little repetitive, but at three-and-a-half minutes doesn't overstay its welcome.

Dancing Queen is set for release on September 28, 2018.  Pick it up on Amazon.

The pop star is currently on a North American tour, then will head to New Zealand and Australia in September.  For concert tickets and more, check out the Cher Zumic artist page.
