Alabama Shakes released a cinematic music video for the eponymous track off of their latest album Sound & Color. Watch the video above.

When it comes to music videos, the band has tended to keep it low-key, typically posting live performances or audio videos. The video for "Sound & Color" is a heart wrenching sci-fi epic focusing on a lone astronaut who's been left without human contact. Much of the video is devoid of vivid color, except for in the flashbacks that the astronaut experiences.

The video is a well constructed metaphor for what's being expressed in the lyrics. The greatest joys in life are tangible and sensory, and if we are robbed of those things, we become like the astronaut. "Sound & Color" is a short video, but it's effective in evoking the emotions that the song is trying to communicate.

Sound & Color can be purchased on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3). Stream the album and read our review right here on Zumic.
