Hilary Duff released a new dance track off of her upcoming album, This Heart. Listen above on the official YouTube lyric video.

This year has been a renaissance for Hilary Duff. Since Lizzie McGuire went off the air, Duff has flown under the radar, making occasional cameo appearances and producing small projects. Her most recent album was released almost ten years ago. But now, the mother and divorcee has reemerged with a more mature image. She's working on her fifth studio album, which features Tove Lo as a collaborator, and she's starring in Younger, her first sitcom since Lizzie McGuire.

"Sparks" sounds like a single that Tove Lo might drop. Beginning with a whistled tune, the song melds into a mellow dance track. Duff's voice has a squeaky-clean pop quality to it, and at times it sounds like she's channeling Britney Spears or Kylie Minogue. The track's dark content seems a bit unusual for the typically sunny Duff, but it shows an older and wiser former Disney star.

"Sparks" can be purchased on Amazon (MP3).
