Last night on DJ Premier's Live From Headqcourterz radio show, he premiered (chuckle) an unreleased Roc Marciano song that was produced by hip-hop legend Pete Rock.
With cinematic strings and a beat that's barely there, Mr. Rock gives Marciano the type of sparse palette he favors for his always-nonchalant, but still menacing lyrics. Seriously, this guy could yawn in the middle of a death threat and I'd still wet myself. On "The Specialist," the Long Island MC spits about luxury, women and crime -- the staple crops of his career -- all in an unaffected monotone. What's cooler than being cool? Roc Marciano.
