Fresh off the heels of the excellent single "Jetée," Fort Romeau is back with "Stay True," another entrancing slice of spacey house music.
Though based on an incessant, repetitive synth line, "Stay True" evolves constantly over the course of its seven minute runtime. It's the type of nuanced composition we've come to expect from Mike Norris (Fort Romeau's sole member), who seems to treat each of his tracks as a journey from start to finish.
Upon hearing one of Norris' deep house odysseys, it may surprise you to learn that he also plays keyboards for electro-pop outfit La Roux. While "Stay True" will never sniff the chart success that La Roux's "Bulletproof" received in 2009, Fort Romeau has carved out a distinct sound that grows on you with every listen.
Like "Jetée," "Stay True" will be released as a 12" EP by Ghostly International, and is set to drop on September 16th.
