Sting has announced 2017 tour dates for North America, Europe, and the U.K. that will be in support of his brand new album, 57th and 9th. The opening acts for all shows will be Sting's son, Joe Sumner, and four-piece Tex-Mex / rock n’ roll group The Last Bandoleros. Sting's band will consist of guitarists Dominic Miller and Rufus Miller, and drummer Josh Freese.
The North American portion of the tour is scheduled to begin on February 1 in Canada and extend until March 14 in New York. He'll then begin his European leg on March 21 in Spain, extending until April 13 in France. According to Sting's website, additional dates in South America and Asia will be announced at a later time.
In a way, the tour began last night at The Bataclan in Paris, France. Sting performed there last night, one day before the one year anniversary of the tragic terrorist attack that killed so many. Sting will be returning to Paris for two concerts at L'Olympia in April. He's also got a couple more 2016 appearances booked including New Year's Eve in Las Vegas.
