Aussie plunderphonics legends The Avalanches made news this year with the release of Wildflower. The long awaited follow-up to their classic debut LP, Since I Left You, took 16 years but was well worth the wait.
This week, the duo released an animated music video for "Subways," a funky, drum-heavy track off Wildflower. The Yellow Submarine-esque video, a wacky psychedelic journey through the subways of New York City, is not-exactly-safe-for-work. But it is pretty sweet.
Though the group, citing medical reasons, recently cancelled a string of European festival appearances, it would seem that the chronically-sidelined Avalanches are not down for the count.
