If you've never been to Coney Island in New York City, this will probably make you wish you did. Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds have shared a music video for their song "Sugar" from the band's recently released album, The Weather Below.
Speaking to Relix, singer Arleigh Kincheloe talked about the song and its video:
I wrote "Sugar" about a first kiss. The whole inspiration for the song and the video comes from that crazy-excited feeling you get when you're about to kiss someone for the first time. I really wanted to capture that vibe and convey the playfulness of the song with this video. Coney Island was a perfect fit for the summertime feel of the song, and we honestly had so much fun shooting there.
We see the band having fun by hanging out on the boardwalk playing carnival games and checking out the interesting people they come across. The Wonder Wheel and The Coney Island Cyclone roller coaster, two famous attractions, make appearances in the clip as well. It's a playful video, and the upbeat tempo of "Sugar" provides the perfect soundtrack.
The Weather Below is available on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3). You can also stream the album and read our review here on Zumic.
