With the official release of Pusha T's My Name Is My Name one day away, the rapper has shared the video for "Sweet Serenade." Staying true to the line "Now I'm on this money, loungin' like it's a beach chair," the video is set on a beach, and features Pusha and a gaggle of pole dancers seated upon beach furniture.
"Sweet Serenade" was co-produced by Swizz Beatz and Kanye West, and its beat is minimal and haunting, featuring eerie choral vocals, a softly buzzing synth, bare-bones 808 drums and not much else. It's the type of instrumental that gives Pusha space to wander and get creative with his flow, dropping doozies like "Wooo! They love me on my Ric Flair shit, In that Phantom like I'm Blair Witch."
Now let's address the elephant in the room. "Sweet Serenade" is an awesome song with a glaring problem: Chris Brown. Why did Pusha choose him, of all people, to sing the hook? We have no idea, but at least they didn't let Brown appear in the same shots as the models in the video.
