Australian psychedelic rock masters Tame Impala will be releasing a limited edition 8 song vinyl called Live Versions on Record Store Day this year, which falls on April 19. You can hear a taste of the album above, "Be Above It" from the band's official SoundCloud.
The song was originally released on Tame Impala's 2012 album Lonerism. The band's website says that this particular version is taken from a 2013 concert in Chicago (which could be either March 6th at The Vic Theatre or October 10th at The Riviera Theatre). It features a heavy chugging drum beat throughout the song, as well as some mind-bending keyboards, guitar parts, and vocal effects. The recording is really clean for a live concert. No word on whether the album will also be released digitally.
