For the occasion, they pulled out "Thanks For The Line," the lead single from their debut self-titled record. They were energetic and charming throughout, with Mick Murphy's sweet guitar riffage complimenting Hawkins' drums and vocals. Better still was the fact that Hawkins' kick drum had a picture of Michael Jackson hanging out with Freddy Mercury.

They softened things up with the ska-influenced "Pieces of the Puzzle," but the old-school rock feeling remained. Hawkins howled about the "necessary evil" in him along with the band's soulful backup singers, but the highlights of the performance were Murphy's straight-up shredding solos on his Flying V. Watch videos of the performances above.

The Birds of Satan came out on April 15th of this year, and you can purchase it via Amazon.
