"The Buzz" - MED, Blu, Mayer Hawthorne & Madlib [SoundCloud Audio]

Earlier this year, MED, Blu and Madlib linked up for the excellent Burgundy EP, and now they've announced a follow-up EP entitled The Buzz. The title track, which also features R&B crooner Mayer Hawthorne, is now available to stream.

Featuring a typically retro Madlib beat, "The Buzz" tells the story of an attractive girl who's "got that real good lovin,'" with MED and Blu expounding upon that premise in each of their verses. The track skillfully blends Hawthorne's vocals with an old-school R&B vocal sample, forming a perfect bridge between past and present. As he's done on a few of his collaborative tracks with Freddie Gibbs, Madlib cuts out the drums at the end of the song and lets the sample ride out, creating a smooth, soulful outro.

For its B side, The Buzz EP will include a track called "Peroxide" that features Snoop Dogg collaborator Dâm-Funk. The EP will be out on November 26th. You can preorder it from Stone's Throw, and check out the tracklist below.
