The Doobie Brothers are planning big things for their 50th anniversary.

Last week, the band announced dates at large-scale venues across the USA and Canada, reuniting for a tour with Michael McDonald for the first time in 25 years. McDonald, who first started with the Doobies in 1975 and served as a lead singer-songwriter with the band for many years, will join the longtime core lineup of Pat Simmons, Tom Johnston, and John McFee. After releasing his first solo album in 1982, Michael emerged as a star artist with some of the most memorable songs of the '80s, only occasionally joining the Doobies for special performances.

The 50th anniversary tour is scheduled from June to October of 2020. This week, the band added 23 additional shows with opening band Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Check the ticket links for the specific lineup in your area. The Doobie Brothers also have a Las Vegas residency scheduled in February.
