Minneapolis' Alpha Consumer just released the new video for "The Eat," a Devo-esque romp through unabashed consumption. Between the dancers trapped in sheets, the gun-eating clown, and the 1950s stock footage, director Chuck Statler draws you into the over-the-top sphere of the song.
Statler is also notable for his contributions to rock video in the pre-MTV era, having worked with Madness, Elvis Costello, and Devo.
And, as Spin points out:
Note well: Alpha Consumer's Jeremy Ylvisaker, a vet of Andrew Bird's band, also plays alongside Dosh in another MPLS quasi-supergroup, the mighty Cloak Ox, and bassist Mike Lewis is a member of Bon Iver.
Check it out above and hear more of their stuff here. It's good news.
