The Flaming Lips and Tame Impala recently announced their split EP in which they'll be covering each other's material. The currently untitled four-track recording will be on vinyl, and only available at the October and November shows they play together.
Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips took to Instagram to reveal the collaborative effort, with a picture of Tame Impala's lyrics along with the message:
The bands are no strangers to covering each other's songs, as evident in Tame Impala's performances of "Are You a Hypnotist?" and "Silver Trembling Hands." Footage hit YouTube recently of The Flaming Lips rehearsing Tame Impala's "Elephant."
The bands are currently on tour together.
