Ed Sheeran's new album, x, is proving to produce hit after hit, showing yet another side to this musical talent. Exploring the art of rap in its darkest form is the new single "The Man," where Sheeran is dishing out about an old love and his success in music.

The stripped down composition of the track allows Sheeran to spit his hip hop-flavored verses about his ex falling for the wrong guy, and how they would have had a chance if his career never took off.

The soulful chorus produces a fuller and more melodic sound to contrast the disdain in his verses. This track is almost a form of therapy for Sheeran as he raps, "I'm sorry for the honesty but I had to get this off my chest."

Even if this girl Sheeran has written about never cared for him, we surely do. It seems that Sheeran's songs are the stories of his life and a personal diary entry he shares with the world.

x is available for pre-order at iTunes now but be sure to head to Ed Sheeran's Zumic artist page to keep up to date with all the latest in news, music and tour dates.
