William Patrick "Billy" Corgan has released a music video for his new single "The Spaniards" from his upcoming solo LP Ogilala, scheduled for release on October 13. Watch the clip above, courtesy of the artist's YouTube channel.
Somber and earnest, Corgan's new tune is a delicate conglomerate of acoustic guitar, sparse piano chordals, and foggy synths. "The Spaniards" follows the singer's first single from Ogilala, "Aeronaut," which exudes a similar spirit of sobriety.
Directed by Linda Strawberry, the clip offers a glimpse into the heroic narrative of Corgan's forthcoming silent film Pillbox, which is set to the music of the LP. The brief collection of scenes is an engrossing visual component, brimming with graphic imagery, ornately dressed characters, and fanciful set artistry. Pillbox will debut in October.
Pre-order a copy of the Rick Rubin-produced album on Amazon. Corgan will head out on a North America tour next month. For concert tickets and more, check out William Patrick Corgan's Zumic artist page.
