Italian-born composer and producer Mauro Remiddi is releasing his second album under the Porcelain Raft moniker entitled Permanent Signal on August 20th via Secretly Canadian, and he recently shared the staggering and haunting ballad "Think Of The Ocean".
"Think Of The Ocean" is a fantastic collage of sounds ranging from droning guitars and organs to delicate, carefully placed piano fills. The accompanying video is really just a constantly repeating visual, which works fine for me, all the more focus on the enthralling track.
Permanent Signal comes hot on the heels of last year's head-turning debut Strange Weekend, and features the work of cellist Gaspar Claus, drummer Jonny Rogoff (of Yuck) and The Antlers' bassist Darby Cicci contributing bass, vocals, trumpet and acting as engineer for the sessions in Remiddi's Brooklyn studio.
