Nick Waterhouse's music escapes definition. Although at first glance one might be tempted to pigeonhole the SoCal-native's sound with labels such as "retro-soul" or "50s R&B revival", it quickly becomes clear that there's something far more unique going on.

Case in point: "This Is A Game," the first single off Waterhouse's upcoming sophomore album, Holly. The vocals are soulful, yet bitingly gritty. The saxophones go straight for the gut. Guitars effortlessly morph from smooth surf to manic blues in the blink of an eye. On top of it all, the outro organ solo is downright psychedelic. Essentially, Waterhouse is much more than the sum of his influences.

Stay tuned for the release of Holly, available March 4th on Innovative Leisure Records.
