Some of music's most notable performers will be embarking on an 11 date tour billed as Lampedusa: Concerts for Refugees in October to address the ongoing refugee crisis.
Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller, and The Milk Carton Kids will be performing for all shows, and on select dates they will be joined by Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant, Joan Baez, Ron Sexsmith, Ruby Amafu, and/or Nancy And Beth. The shows are scheduled to begin on October 6 in Colorado and wrap up on October 21 in Washington, DC. Tickets for all the shows are currently on sale.
According to the Jesuit Refugee Service website, "the concerts will be intimate evenings of acoustic performances benefiting Jesuit Refugee Service's Global Education Initiative. The Lampedusa tour helps displaced people heal, learn, and thrive by providing educational opportunities for refugees living in camps and urban settings in 45 countries."
