British sensation Sam Smith has released a music video for his new single, which marked the singer's first new music since 2014's In The Lonely Hour and 2015's "Writing's On The Wall," the theme for the James Bond flick Spectre. Check out the clip for "Too Good At Goodbyes" above, courtesy of the artist's YouTube.

Staying true to form, Smith delivers a grandiose and sensitive vocal performance colored by sparse orchestral accompaniment and a responsive choir in the chorus. Taking preemptive caution against romantic trauma, Smith sings, "I'm never gonna let you close to me, Even though you mean the most to me, 'Cause every time I open up, it hurts, So I'm never gonna get too close to you, Even when I mean the most to you, In case you go and leave me in the dirt." The clip, which was directed by Luke Monaghan, shows Smith singing in a studio setting between cutaway shots of crestfallen couples.

Co-written alongside Jimmy Napes and Stargate, the song "...is about a relationship I was in and it's basically about getting good at getting dumped. It's been a long while since I've put any music out and I feel that this first single sets the tone of what is to come," according to Smith in a statement on the Capitol Records website.

In conjunction with the release of "Too Good At Goodbyes," the singer announced a four-show performance schedule in Los Angeles, New York City, London, and Berlin. The final show in Berlin takes place this evening.
