As closing arguments were underway in the trial against George Zimmerman, Atlanta-based rapper Lil' Scrappy released a new song entitled "Trayvon Martin."
In the hard-hitting new track, Lil' Scrappy addresses contemporary and historical issues of racism, all while vividly narrating what he imagines were Trayvon's thoughts in the moments before his death. The song begins and ends with audio sampled from the courtroom proceedings, as Scrappy demands "legal justice" or "street justice" for Martin and his surviving family members. Listen to it above.
