Signature Brew is a UK-based brewery that specializes in making "amazing craft beers in collaboration with bands and musicians," and their latest creation is the "Black Tongue Double Black IPA," inspired by a Mastodon song. Watch a trailer for the beer above.

With an ABV of 8.3%, Black Tongue is billed as a beer "of monstrous proportions," and as Signature Brew's "biggest and most powerful creation to date." In the video, you can see Mastodon's Brann Dailor taste testing some other beer with a member of the Signature Brew staff, which he deems too light, and commissions a "palate crusher."

Though it may never top Pig Destroyer's "Permanent Funeral Pale Ale" in a list of the most metal beers ever, the Black Tongue IPA looks to be the perfect beverage equivalent to Mastodon's music: sludgy, dark and overpowering. Preorder the brew now from Orders ship on December 3rd.
