Smooth as velvet.

Toronto jazz trio BadBadNotGood have released a new song called "Velvet" which certainly lives up to the name. Listen above, via SoundCloud.

The song is a funky throwback to '70s cinematic music, with a slow groove and gorgeous textures. There's a lot going on, from the basic foundation of drums, bass, and Fender Rhodes to some incredible horn, flute, and string synths sounds. As you can see from the official credits above, a lot of love went into this cut.

No word on if or when this will be released as a download or physical copy. However, you can listen to BadBadNotGood's outstanding 2014 album, III, and read our review right here on Zumic.
