Grimes and music producer i_o have teamed up for a new song titled "Violence." Listen and watch the music video above on YouTube.

"Violence" sets a dark and mysterious mood featuring synth-pop beats and spacey production underneath Grimes' ethereal vocals that soar with delicate intensity. The lyrics paint a picture of an abusive relationship, with lines like "Wanna break up" and "You feed off hurting me," building toward the climax as she sings, "And I like it like that."

Directed by Grimes, the video opens with her reading Sun Tzu's classic piece The Art of War. From there, the singer shows off expressive dancing, both solo and with the female warriors surrounding her. The Greco-Roman architecture brings to mind classical mythology, giving more weight to the often vague and repetitive lyrics.

In March, Grimes announced she will release a new album titled Miss_Anthropocene. At this time, it is unknown if "Violence" will be included on the record, which does not yet have a release date. Last year, she released a futuristic and similarly dark music video for "We Appreciate Power."
