Even if you've never heard of Floor, you might find that the lead vocals on "War Party" sound familiar. That's because the band shares singer / guitarist Steve Brooks with Torche, a more well-known stoner metal band. Stream "War Party," taken from Floor's first new album in 12 years, above.

Since their self-titled album was released in 2002, Floor broke up, reissued their 1994 album Dove in 2004, reunited in 2010 to play some shows and release a box set, and have now reunited again for the release of Oblation, a full length due out on April 25th. "War Party," the album's first single, isn't too far removed from what Torche are doing these days, but is perhaps a bit more straightforward due to Floor having only one guitarist. That means it's about as sludgy and poppy as metal can get, and pretty accessible without sacrificing any balls-out fun. Oblation was produced by Converge's always-stellar Kurt Ballou, heavy music's most prolific producer (2013 was a slow year for him, only producing eight albums), so it's sure to all sound as phenomenal as the crunchy, warm "War Party."

Preorder Oblation from Season of Mist's official website, and check out Radkey's recent song "Feed My Brain" if you're in the mood for more delicious stoner rock.
