In an incredibly cool move, Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre recently gave the commencement address to the graduating seniors at The University Of Southern California. Both of them did an incredible job, but what's even more impressive is the $70 million to the university to start the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation. $70 million! How many of those headphones has the Doctor sold!?

Iovine was the main speaker and the legendary producer and entrepreneur absolutely killed it, quoting "his favorite poet", R. Kelly, and receiving uproarious applause from the crowd at the end of the speech. In the middle of his speech he brought up Dre who kept things short and sweet and seemed genuinely tickled to be apart of the ceremony.

The new program will focus on entrepreneurship in the entertainment business and will begin the four year undergraduate program in the fall of 2014. Both Dre and Iovine would be qualified to teach courses if they wished, the shear size of their donation speaks to their successes in the industry. Both started from humble beginnings and have built basically empires via their achievements in several different fields of music. Here's to Dre and Iovine for their charity, a fantastic and selfless move that hopefully inspires more of the same in others.
